Episode #84 Podcast Show Notes Now Online
Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at 8:52AM Just a quick note that the show notes for Episode #84 are live now.
On that note, I also want to thank Tom Newman (twitter: fogview) who is this week's author. He and Bruce Clarke (twitter: bruceclarke) alternate the writing of the notes each week and do a dynamite job. It's not a small job, either, when one considers you have to listen and re-listen in real time to each week's show, research links, summarize our rants and ratholes, etc.
A quick process note, too, regarding the new blog and show notes:
We've got an RSS feed for the notes themselves (and the comments). If I enter a "placeholder" entry when the show first arrives on Monday evenings (as I did with #84), that entry will appear in the feed (and your reader) but the notes will probably be another day or so coming. Since that placeholder, though, makes an entry that you will see and mark as read, adding the notes to the same entry later will not cause the entry to re-appear in your reader when it's been updated. You'll essentially NOT get the notes in your reader... just word that the show is out on Monday.
On that basis, I'm going to announce new show releases in the main TWiP Log feed but we're going to hold off on making a show notes entry for each show until the notes are fully written. That way your first RSS entry in your reader for a new show will be complete, notes and all.
If none of what I wrote makes sense, just go with this summary: Shows come out on Monday, your iTunes will pick it up as usual and a note on the main blog page will appear saying it's out. The entry on here containing the show notes will only appear once the notes are fully written (24 - 48 hours later), but if you're following via RSS you'll get the full notes in your reader when it happens.
Hope this helps! :)

Sweet, thanks Aaron.
BTW, new header and color scheme are WAY better than the last one.
Can we please have pro shooter interviews that don't revolve around wedding photography. There is a whole world of pro photography that does not wedding photography. There is commercial art, sports photography, editorial, photojournalism and glamour. I have nothing against wedding shooters, I have shot more that a few, but please can we add to the scope of the interviews. The show is very good, but I feel like I am at a wedding seminar.
Ralph,
Honestly, this was kind of coincidental and we realized part of the way into the last few weeks that things were a little wedding heavy. That said, we've not covered a lot of wedding topics (or interviews) in the past and have gotten a LOT of requests and listener questions over the months with a wedding slant.
This was probably the last wedding-centric discussion for a while. There will be more in the future... but other topics for the foreseeable future.
Hope that helps to know!

I agree we've been a bit heavy on the wedding side of things. Though you won't see us ignore that genre by any means, we'll be paying more attention to other genres.
